Beginner Yoga Exercises: Where do I Start
Anyone who knows anything about fitness and exercise knows that you have to start somewhere AND slowly, and the same principle applies to Yoga. Hence the need to know the proper beginner yoga exercises.
When I mentioned to my friend that I practice Yoga, she asked me for tips on the best beginner yoga exercises and how to apply them for maximum efficiency.
Necessary Items for Beginner Yoga Exercises
Well, I told her, first get a good and sturdy Yoga Mat.
Get some nice Yoga clothing.
Make sufficient space in her room.
Get a Metronome (for timing set at 60 beats per minute for accuracy)
Suggested Routine for Beginner Yoga Exercises
Now, I handed her information on the very core of beginner yoga exercises, in fact the very core of Yoga itself (and in some circles, Martial Arts AND Indian Wrestling. These babies are called the Sun Salutations.
Besides being an essential element in beginner yoga exercises, they are quite indispensable as they do the following.
-They alleviate disorders of the skin and waist.
-They mildly exercise the legs and arms at the same time increasing the circulation and restoring flexibility to the limbs.
-They are one of the best ways to burn calories and reduce weight and are often recommended for obesity and depression.
-They are an effective way of loosening up, stretching and massaging all joints and internal organs of the body.
-They stimulate and balance all the systems of the body including the endocrine, circulatory, reproductive and digestive system.
Now, I also handed her articles on the following key poses in regards to beginner yoga exercises as mentioned in this blog and its parent webpage (see link below).
Other Poses for Beginner Yoga Exercises
They were:
1. The Shoulderstand.
2. The Bridge Pose
3. The Fish Pose
4. The Head to Knee Pose
5. Backward Bending Poses
6. Twisting Poses
7. The Balancing Poses
8. The Exercises in Standing Position
9. The corpse pose.
Now, I ensured to clarify that in regards to beginner yoga exercises, she only need stick with the first and basic variations of each group in that order.
Secondly, I ommitted the mentioning of the abdominal and breathing exercises, for now, till I felt she would be ready to learn and use them in her yoga routine.
I also stressed that for using beginner yoga exercises, she perhaps may only need to practice mainly the afore-mentioned sun salutations for time constraints and all. I mean 24 reps of them IS a workout friends.
Well, here is my 2 cents on beginner yoga exercises for those interested like my friend was and still is.
