get rid of back fat

Many people these days are suffering from a strange problem-that of back fat. No matter how much they exercise, they see those little folds in the center of their backs. Even when then drop a lot of weight, they still have the same problem. Consequently, they tend to think that the kind of exercises or workouts they are doing is just not correct. In this article I will you of two types of exercises you can do to get rid of back fat. Hopefully, after reading this article, back fat will no more be a bugging problem for you.

To get rid of back fat, you need to isolate the muscles in your back, and let me tell you, it isn't easy. That is because people find it difficult to work on something they cannot see in the mirror. However,with a variety of strength training and workout programs available these days, it is matter of months before you see those folds vanish forever! Getting rid of back fat has many advantages; not only it makes your back look more appealing, it also reduces the chances of back injury and improves your posture and provides stronger support to your body.

To get rid of back fat, you can lie on your stomach with your arms and legs outstretched. Then pull your abdominals in towards your spine, as if you are trying to create a space between your belly button and the floor. Then rest your forehead on the floor to align your neck with the rest of your spine. Next you can lift your right arm and left leg a little way off the floor and stretch them to opposite ends of the room. Hold for a few minutes , then slowly lower. Repeat this exercise with your left arm and right leg and alternate until you have completed all the available repetitions.

There is another type of exercise you can do to get rid of back fat fast First of all, lie on your stomach with your palms resting on the floor near your shoulders and with your legs outstretched. Next pull your abdominals in towards your spine as if you are trying to create a space between your belly button and the floor. Then rest your forehead on the floor to align your neck with the rest of your spine. Without using your hands, lift your head and chest up off the floor as high as you can. Be sure you are feeling comfortable throughout the exercise. Your palms will lift a small way off the floor too. Hold a moment until you feel a stretch through your lower back and then slowly lower. Repeat until you have completed all repetitions. This is another way to get rid of back fat fast.

There are many other types of exercises which will help you get rid of back fat. Also, if you want to get rid of back fat fast, you must do a variety of strength training exercises.     If you are considering a new diet or exercise routine...

    A big part of ringing in the New Year for a lot of people includes adopting a new resolution. New Year’s resolutions are great way to motivate yourself to improve upon something. The most common New Year’s resolutions involve giving up bad habits such as smoking or working on your health with a new diet or exercise routine. Whether you are trying to stop a bad habit or to cultivate a new beneficial one, it is important to set realistic goals so that you do not feel overwhelmed and your chances of success are higher.

    If you are considering a new diet or exercise routine for the New Year, it is very important that you discuss these plans with your doctor. He or she will be able to give you specific advice as to how to implement your new routine so that you are able to maximize the benefits and to not put yourself in harm's way. Every person has specific issues and limitations that must be taken into account and your doctor will help bring those to light for you. Before you consider any of the wildly popular cleansing programs or diet supplements, including losing weight pills, discuss those options thoroughly with your doctor.

    Once you have obtained clearance from your doctor, look around at the various exercise routines available. You will ultimately find that one will work better for you than most others. Some people want to sculpt their bodies, while others simply want to get a decent amount of aerobic exercise. There is a multitude of exercise routines on television and video but before you waste your money on anything, read up on the routine to see exactly what you are signing up for. Remember the advice of your doctor when deciding what type of exercise routine to begin.

    The most important piece of advice when it comes to beginning a new exercise routine when lossing wieght is to make sure that you do not overdo it. Most people, whether they are in shape or not, will jump headfirst into a new exercise plan because they are quite motivated at the beginning. As the weeks go on, however, you may find it is difficult keep up. If you want your new health regimen to be successful, is important that you take it slow at the beginning and increase your workouts as your stamina increases. It is just like they say -- the slow and steady pace wins the race.

    choosing gifts for long-term care patients and hospital patients

    Appropriate gifts for long-term care and hospital patients involve a number of considerations: tight storage space, limited display space and the need for comfort and beauty.

    One option is to purchase small decorative boxes such as ring boxes, trinket boxes or keepsake boxes for long-term care patients and hospital patients put their rings, jewelry, and watches in during times when they cannot be worn. Too often these small valuables are thrown in a drawer or put in a plastic dish provided by the institutional facility and intended for less appealing uses. Memorable and beautiful, these small boxes help patients locate their valuables when needed and make attractive items to display in sometimes drab surroundings.

    Small pieces of art and other decorative items also make perfect gifts for long-term care and hospital patients with limited display space. Artwork intended for tabletop display is a good choice as well as small decorative plaques or miniature art. Sizes from 3x5” to 8x10” will probably be the best. These pieces of artwork could be designed either for tabletop or wall display and can be displayed singly or in small groups.

    In addition, art can have therapeutic value for long-term care patients and hospital patients. Research has shown that images of nature: reduce stress and mental fatigue, speed recovery from illness, relieve depression, reduce negative emotions, lower blood pressure, reduce muscular tension and increase brain activity in the alpha range.

    Nature images dominated by water or trees and floral images can have healing effects and make wonderful gifts for long-term care and hospital patients. Florence Nightingale was among the first believers in attractive surroundings for patients and claimed that she had witnessed the sight of beautiful flowers directly reducing a fever!

    The colors used in art can also have therapeutic value. Warm colors (red, yellow and orange) can be used to alleviate depression and to stimulate metabolism. Cool colors (green, blue and purple) can help to offset fevers, relieve exhaustion and encourage relaxation.

    When choosing gifts for long-term care patients and hospital patients, keep in mind that tight storage space, limited display space and the need for comfort and beauty are paramount. Find a gift that fills all three of these needs, and you’ll be sure to please!

    Arre you sabotaging your efforts to lose weight

    This article reveals some unique aspects of weight loss where you may be unknowingly sabotaging your efforts to lose weight by simple mistakes made at the grocery store.

    Here's something I noticed recently. I was at the grocery store a couple days ago picking up some food for a Mexican avocado rice-bean dish I was planning to cook up. While I was there, an interesting thing happened.

    I went straight to the grocery store after finishing with a couple of my clients at the gym. As I was grabbing some frozen fruit and vegetables, a friendly lady (who must have seen that I was a fitness trainer from my shirt), asked for my advice on a couple of frozen box meals she was picking out (by the way, those frozen box meals are usually highly processed crap loaded with sodium and a slew of other chemicals).

    Also, let's make this clear that this woman was extremely overweight, and she mentioned that she has "tried everything" to lose weight and has always failed.

    Keep in mind I hear about 50 people a day tell me they've "tried everything" to lose weight. The problem that they don't realize is that they are trying all of the WRONG things... they are trying all of the gimmicks and fads that are out there instead of just adopting a TRUE active and healthy lifestyle.

    Anyway, back to the lady in the store...

    We started to chat about her struggles with weight loss, and I began looking over her grocery cart contents. If I can remember, these were some of the items she was buying that she thought were good for weight loss:

    1. Fat Free Rice Cakes - Despite so many people believing these "pieces of cardboard tasting crap" are healthy... they really are nothing but pure refined starch with zero fiber, which basically breaks down almost immediately into sugar in your body, spiking insulin and promoting fat storage... does not sound so good anymore, huh.

    2. Canned "weight loss" shakes - I can not mention the brand names, but I think you know what I'm talking about... These canned shakes are far from healthy...they are actually loaded with high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated oils, and a bunch of other chemicals.

    3. Reduced Sugar Dessert Cakes - Nothing healthy here either... these are loaded with artificial sweeteners, sugar alcohols, preservatives, and a chemical ingredient list about 15 lines long.

    4. Canned fruit in syrup - I guess she could do worse here... but still, why not just eat fresh whole fruit which still contains the skins, fiber, active enzymes, etc, instead of resorting to processed, canned fruit that has been cooked and loaded with syrup.

    5. Protein bars "Scientifically Slim Body Engineered" or some BS statement like that - I took a look at the ingredient list of these so called "healthy" protein bars and sure enough... partially hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, and enough sugar alcohols to give you diarrhea for a week!

    Are you starting to see what is going on here? I see this same scenario all of the time.

    The majority of people are fooled by what the FRONT OF THE BOX says, leading them to believe what they are buying is healthy and good for losing weight. On all of these items, the FRONT of the packages showed amazing sounding claims, such as "fat free", "reduced sugar", "high protein", "low cholesterol", "low carb", etc.

    However, the TRUTH is on the BACK OF THE BOX! Ah yes, the ingredient list and nutrition info is where the real truth is. I have realized that most of the general public does not know how to fully understand the ingredient list and nutrition info, so they rely on the advertising claims on the front of the box to guide them.

    This is a BIG MISTAKE!

    If you noticed, this woman thought she was doing great with her grocery shopping and buying all kinds of healthy stuff for her and her family that would be beneficial for losing weight.

    In reality, almost EVERYTHING she was buying was highly processed and full of chemicals and industrially refined ingredients. No wonder "nothing has worked" for her to lose the weight... she actually hasn't been doing anything right. She has been mislead by all of the confusing marketing and food labeling and conflicting nutrition info in the mass media.

    8 Healthy Ways To Lose Weight

    The following article is one of a series of articles which focus on Self Improvement, Motivation and Empowerment. It is based on research done over twenty years as a personal and business coach.     8 Healthy Ways To Lose Weight

    Almost 108 million Americans were overweight or obese in 1999. Until now, obesity continues to be a serious problem and is predicted to reach epidemic levels by the year 2020.

    One way to prevent this scenario is to make people aware of the risks of being overweight or obese.

    Here are some diseases that you are putting yourself in risk of if you are carrying a lot of extra pounds:

    1. heart disease

    2. stroke

    3. diabetes

    4. cancer

    5. arthritis

    6. hypertension

    Losing weight helps to prevent and control these diseases.

    The quick weight loss methods which have spread like fire these days do not provide lasting results. More often than not, dieting methods which involve dietary drinks, foods and supplement or pills do not work. If they do, the results are just temporary.

    It is better to rely on a healthy weight loss option which will provide lifetime results. You have to set realistic goals and not expect to lose a lot of pounds in a short span of time.

    When it comes to the subject of self improvement, I fully understand (through my own experiences) that it is a lot easier said than done. However, you are here, right now, because you have a desire to improve your self or you are at least interested in this subject. Perhaps you are reading this to help a friend or colleague - great.     Here are some tips on how you can lose those unwanted pounds the healthy way:

    1. Do not starve your self.

    The key to a healthier way of losing weight is: Do not diet.

    You may seem happy and feel that you are losing those unwanted flabs on your belly and thighs by skipping meals. But remember that this would not last long. Your body cannot tolerate having insufficient food to fuel the energy that you use up everyday.

    If you get used to skipping one or two meals a day, your stored calories will be used up instead of the energy that should have been provided by your meals. So if you just eat one huge sandwich in one day, it will end up straight to your problem area (i.e. highs, buttocks, hips).

    2. Start your day right.

    Mothers always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Have a healthy meal in the morning to jump-start your metabolism.

    Your food intake after you wake up will be used to burn fat all day long.

    3. Eat small, healthy meals frequently.

    Five small-serving snacks per day is better than three hearty meals. Eating more frequently, and in small servings, can prevent over-eating. This will also increase your metabolism and make calories burn faster.

    4. Decide on how much weight you want to lose.

    Keep your goals realistic. In the long run, it is virtually impossible for you to lose 40 pounds in 2 weeks. Have a mindset that you want to eat healthy to stay healthy for the rest of your life.

    Once you have decided on a weight loss plan or program, stick to it and make sure that you follow your own set of dieting rules.

    5. Drink lots of water.

    Your body needs sufficient water to burn fat and keep your cells hydrated and healthy.

    6. Avoid too much sugar.

    Plan your meals around lots of fruits and vegetables, some bread, rice or pasta for that carbo fix that you need, plus lean meat and protein rich-foods. Sweets, sodas and pastries should be once-in-a-while indulgences only.

    7. Watch your fat intake.

    Fat is not the culprit to being overweight. You need this to keep your weight at the proper level.

    There is such a thing as healthy fats. Olive, peanuts and canola oil have them. Tuna, salmon and mackerel have omega-3 fats which is good for the heart.

    8. Exercise.

    Leave your car if you are only going a few blocks from home, take the stairs instead of the elevator, jog, cycle or skate. Use these activites and other home chores if you are too lazy to go to the gym and take exercise classes. Make sure that you do this regularly and you will not even notice that you are already shedding pounds with these mundane activities.

    It does not matter how much weight you plan or need to lose. What is important is that you set realistic goals for yourself.

    Go slow. If you have already lost 5 or 6 pounds, give yourself a break then try to lose the next 5 pounds.

    Eat healthy, drink lots of water, have enough sleep and exercise. This will give you a higher chance of losing weight and improving your health, which would result to a new, healthier you.

    NOW is the time!

    The greatest thing about yoga is that it can be performed right in the comfort of your own home. Most people clear a very small place and have several different yoga videos to follow along with. Some people prefer to sign up for yoga classes and get out of the house once a week. Whatever your desire is you can do it. Yoga has been relaxing people for centuries.     The value of yoga as an activity that increases flexibility, provides toning, and connects the act of exercise with mediation has long been known. But when people think of a more rigorous workout, yoga may not always be what comes to mind. With power yoga, though, it should be.

    Power yoga is the act of doing several moves continuously without any intervention. It is a form of rigorous and intense exercise that focuses on breathing techniques as a person transitions rapidly from pose to pose. Like other forms of intense exercise, power yoga can increase endurance and physical strength.

    Because of the impact this form of yoga has on improving stamina, flexibility and muscle imbalances, it is often used in aerobics courses as a transition from warm-up to aerobic activity. Many athletes incorporate power yoga into their training regimen for various competitive sports.

    Just as classical yoga is more than a good cardiovascular workout, power yoga is the same. It focuses on both physical and mental power and aims to connect the body and the mind. Many people feel very strongly that without yoga they feel unbalanced in every part of their body.

    So far we covered the characteristics of power yoga. Also the overall value of power yoga is the toning that takes place to your body. Yoga not only works your heart but gives your body more flexibility the more you perform it. We also discussed how more and more athletes are using yoga as part as their training routine. Whether your man or women it just doesn’t matter. Below we will cover some origin type material and some ideas about what courses to think about.

    What Western Civilization calls “power yoga” is actually transitioned from Ashtanga yoga, and was given the new name by an Ashtanga yoga instructor. Some other great recreational material is at http://www.cmminformation.com. Power yoga is to be done in a heated room and provides a much more rigorous cardiovascular workout than classical yoga. Because of its rigorous and demanding nature, it should not be done by those who have injuries or chronic illnesses. This stamina-building form of exercise is designed for those who are already at a relatively high level of physical fitness.

    Try visiting your local gymnasium about any power yoga courses that might be offered. Even those who are already at a high level of physical fitness should be familiar with and have some experience doing classical yoga poses and breathing exercises before taking the leap into this more advanced form. Those considering power yoga should also have an interest in more than a vigorous workout, as the focus on the connection of mind, body and spirit is a critical element of this activity.

    For those with some experience who would like to make it a part of their workout regimen but do not have the time or interest in going to the gym, there are exercise videos and DVDs available. Traditional yoga attire and equipment, such as a yoga mat, are required for those interested in doing power yoga at home.

    In closing don’t be shy. Pick up your local phone book and look for a local power yoga class. Go online and see if you can find any local instructors. If you not sure you will like it then rent a dvd and try doing yoga for 45 minutes out of your home.     Governments are now looking into ways of reducing obesity (study)

    A recent report has highlighted, yet again, that obesity is becoming a major problem for governments all over the world. This is epecially so in the western world, people in countries such as the USA are finding it difficult to control their weight. It is now time to start fighting obesity before the situation escalates out of control.

    People who are generally obese can cause many problems on their country. Their health is not likely to be that of a person of an average build and therefore obese people are more likely to require additional forms of medication. They can of course also require much needed bed space in our hospitals.

    Obese people are also less likely to be in stable employment. There are of course many people in employment who are obese but the latest statistics reveal, that the percentage of obese people in full time work in comparison to people of an average build is a lot lower.

    Governments are now looking into ways of reducing the amount of fatty foods that people are eating. Exercise is of course a must when attempting to lose weight or to keep fit. It is therefore important to encourage people to participate in more sports and to walk to more places, for example leave the car at home.

    We all need to work together to fight the problem of obesity. Instead of relying on our own governmment to find a solution, why not start on our own weight loss programs today? Eat less and exercise more is surely the answer.

    McDonald's corporation is engaged in a battle, defending their good name and brand. Their evil enemy is... The Oxford English Dictionary.

    As a matter of fact, after a well-known writer Douglas Coupland has written his book , the word "McJob" has become part of the English language. The 11th edition of Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, defines a "McJob" as "a low-paying job that requires little skill and provides little opportunity for advancement." "McJob" is similarly defined in the Oxford English Dictionary and Webster's Dictionary, published by Random House.

    McDonald's CEOs have decided that this definition antiadvertises their corporation, so they have launched a petition claiming to change the McJob article into something more euphonic, as they think it reflects what happens in McDonald's nowadays.

    We might soon see a beer company sueing Clint Eastwood for shooting beer bottles in a movie.

    we want lifetime fitness – fitness for life.

    Your mindset is arguably one of the most important factors if you really want to achieve your goals. Most of us are not looking for a short term health solution: we want lifetime fitness – fitness for life. So it’s important that you really think in that context and start to visualize how that would look to you.

    Have you ever stood in front of the mirror to looked at your self and not been happy with what you saw in the reflection? I think that all of us have done this at one time or another. The sad thing is that unless you change the way that you see yourself, you’re never going to change! Thoughts and visualizing are very powerful in helping you to achieve your goals! They can make or break your goals. Have you ever noticed that the person that thinks the most about being sick is always sick? That the people that talk the most about aches and pains always seem to have aches and pains? Or that the person that talks the most about being ugly seems to be that way because they see themselves that way! So, if you really want to see a change in the way you look you have to start to change the way you see yourself! Its time to visualize what you want to be - not what you are!

    I heard a statement the other day that really rang true with this concept. The idea is that if you look at yourself and judge yourself the way you are today you’re really just looking at what you ‘were’, and so you’ll always be stuck there. What you are today is a culmination of the past! So if you want to change your future, stop looking at the past (or in other words where you are today). Instead, start to visualize what you want to be and you’ll actually start to become that.

    So next time you stand in front of the mirror take a good look at yourself. Then close your eyes and get a picture in your mind of what you want to look like. Do this on a daily basis and really feel and picture what you want to look like. Don’t make it just a mundane routine, really get into it. This will help you to stay motivated and also help you to accomplish your goals even faster because you’re involving your mind in changing your body. There is a really correlation between the mind and body. If you really want to achieve lifetime fitness you have to start including your whole body in the process.

    The Dangers Of Using Laxatives For Weight Loss

    The Dangers Of Using Laxatives For Weight Loss

    One popular weight loss supplements available in the market today take the form of tea. Stores all over sell slimming tea, dieter's tea and others but all of them are actually the same. They may appear to be effective, but what is not seen may actually harm you.

    One of the effects of drinking dieter's tea is frequent bowel movement. This gives people the feeling of body cleansing. These people may get toxins out of their body but it isn't exactly the only thing that slimming tea actually does to the body.

    Slimming tea contains herbs which are natural laxatives. These include aloe, senna, rhubarb root, cascara, buckthorn and castor oil. These are products which are derived from plants and are used since the ancient times because of their potency in treating constipation and to inducing bowel movement.

    Cascara, castor oil and senna are substances which are recognized as laxatives available over the counter and are also regulated as drugs. Scientific studies show that diarrhea induced by laxatives does not absorb significant amounts of calories taken in the body.

    The reason for this is that laxatives do not act on the small intestines where most of the calories are absorbed. Instead, they work on the large intestines. If taken in large amounts for prolonged periods, it can affect fat absorption of the body. This may lead to greasy diarrhea and loss of weight. Abuse of laxatives is common practice among people who suffer from bulimia and anorexia nervosa.

    When it comes to the subject of self improvement, I fully understand (through my own experiences) that it is a lot easier said than done.     While weight loss can be guaranteed by overdosing on laxatives, it may also cause permanent damage to the gastrointesitinal tract and the weakening and softening of the bones, a condition known as osteomalacia.

    Drinkers of slimming teas may actually patronize the product because they are less axpensive and taste better than other laxatives sold in the market. Other people, such as those with eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia nervosa drink dieter's tea because they work fast and produce watery stool and having loose consistency.

    Women may even be more susceptible to the effects of slimming teas. Although they may are not known to interfere directly with the woman's menstrual cycle and fertility, they should watch out if drinking them causes them to rapidly shed off weight.

    It is also not safe for pregnant women to be taking in laxatives of any kind. Wise and reponsible herbalists also discourage the use of senna and other herbal products with laxative properties for pregnant women and women who are trying to conceive.

    One should be wary about these findings because the labeling of slimming teas in the market today can be absolutely misleading. For instance, they commonly refer to the laxative qualities as "natural bowel cleansing properties" and not specifically use the word "laxative".

    Some even use the term "low-calorie" on their labelling. These products in fact, contain essentially no calories nor nutrients whatsoever; unless of course, if they are sweetened.

    Adverse effects of misusing laxatives in the form of slimming tea generally occur when taken in more than or longer than recommended. These include nausea, stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, fainting, rectal bleeding,electrolyte disorder and dehydration as well as injury and worse, death.

    It was also reported that excess use of stimulant laxatives cause severe constipation and pain for long periods (as much as for decades) due to the colon losing its function. It eventually led to surgery removing the colon altogether.
