Weight Loss With The Power of Love

Most people make promises to lose weight but never seem to attain their goals. Perhaps it is because of lack of motivation.

Well, one thing can help with increasing the enthusiasm for self-improvement through weight loss. That thing is love.

One of the many reasons why several people gain weight in the first place from excessive eating and lack of exercise may be due to an intense loneliness and the need to compensate for this. “No one wants me anyway”, they’d say or think to themselves in self-pity “so it shouldn’t matter what I look like, so let me enjoy something at least!”

This emotion is quite understandable; however, it is not the right approach to handling the situation.

Instead of resorting to unhealthy binges as a resort to compensate for being alone, why not make the efforts to find that special someone who would motivate you to being a better person.

In addition, when you make the efforts to be healthier and fitter, you automatically create the foundation for increased self-confidence, happiness and a positive outlook on life.

Now, admittedly, it may seem hard at times to find that person to share our feelings with, however, there are still plenty of options to finding someone and it’s safe to say the energy spent on binging and consequently gaining excess weight could be expended in such endeavors.

Even in the worst case scenario: “How about being in love with you?”

That’s a start. Christ’s wisdom and subtlety comes to mind here when he says : “Love your neighbor as you love yourself” When you love yourself (not being vain or overly superficial now), you will make the efforts to always look and be your best naturally. As a result that motivation could and should serve as the spur to action to lose excess weight if needed.

Now, if you are in a relationship already, this should serve as a motivation to want to look and be your best. To simply let things get out of hand with your health and appearance can make you appear less attractive to your partner, in spite of whatever people say about “it’s not what’s on the outside that matters…”

Now Al Green once said “Love can make you do wrong, can make you do right”
I say it can make you lose weight!

    For Healthy Weight Loss, Yoga can Help!

    Dear Friends,

    Using yoga for weight loss might not look effective to most people. However,Yoga can work for weight loss if you use it right and I’ll tell you what to do in due course.

    Being the oldest physical culture known to man,it works the mind and soul as well.

    For Weight Loss, here are the poses I recommend you use when using Yoga as the choice of exercise while losing weight.

    Now my friend, I will go over what I believe is the CORE of Yoga Poses.

    Let’s take notes:

    The Sun Salutations When using Yoga for Weight Loss:

    These exercises are a combination of Yoga Poses, Breathing Exercises, Sun Bathing and Prayer. They have been practiced for centuries by Yoga Practitioners in India, Martial Artists and African Wrestlers and as a system to rejuvenate the body and soul are beyond compare. It’s been said in the Drugless Healing circles that one round of the Sun Salutations is much better than a week of exercises at the gym!

    They are very simple to learn and just about anyone, regardless of their fitness or flexibility levels can learn these simple exercises.

    Here are some of their benefits:
    -They alleviate disorders of the skin and waist.
    -They are the best way to burn calories and reduce weight and are often recommended for obesity and depression.
    -They are an effective way of loosening up, stretching and massaging all joints and internal organs of the body.
    -They stimulate and balance all the systems of the body including the endocrine, circulatory, reproductive and digestive system.

    Technique:
    1. Stand straight with the palms together as in a prayer position.

    2. Inhale and stretch the arms above the head.

    3. Exhale and bend forward while touching the toes.

    4. Inhale and stretch the right leg away from the body in a big backward step and keep the hands and left foot firmly on the ground. Bending the head backward the left knee should be between the hands.

    5. Inhale and hold the breath. Move the left leg from the body and, keeping both feet together and the knees of the floor, rest on the hands (arms straight) and keep the body in a straight line from head to foot.

    6. Exhale and lower the body to the floor. In this position, only 8 portions of the body come in contact with the floor: the two feet, two knees, two hands, chest and forehead.

    7. Inhale and bend back as much as possible bending the spine to the maximum.

    8. Exhale and lift the body of the floor. Keep the feet and heels on the floor.

    9. Inhale and bring the right foot along the level of the hands; left foot and knee should touch the ground. Look up, bending the spine slightly (same position as #4)

    10. Exhale and bring the left leg forward. Keep the knees straight and bring the head down to the knees as in the third position.

    11. Raise the arms overhead and bend backward inhaling. As in Position 2.

    12. Exhale and drop the arms and relax.

    You have now completed one round.

    Perform as many rounds as possible in multiples of 3. Ideally you want to aim for 6 rounds minimum and up to a maximum of 30. It only takes about 5-10 minutes, depending on your speed and intensity and is best practiced with as little clothing as possible before an open air window first thing in the morning.

    Okay, we’ve gone over the core pose or combination thereof when using Yoga for weight loss in this part of the series of this article. I’ll go over SPECIFIC poses (asanas) that will target the trouble spots and some breathing exercises that would speed up burning up of calories.

    Morever, my friends, note, when I say use yoga for weight loss; I mean ALL its limbs: the poses, the prescribed diet for practice and mind-set.

    Salad Recipes for Weight Loss...HEALTHY Weight Loss

    Okay, everyone knows that when it's time to work on weight loss that inevitably you'll need to make some changes in your diet right...

    Hence the need for salads.

    However, for a healthy diet (and consequently a healthy weight loss), it just can't be plain ice-berg lettuce and pre-manufactured dressings.

    Far from it. Try to make them healthy salads.

    Briefly here are some recipes that could work.

    (And they are with natural ingredients at that so you know they are bound to taste great and healthy!)

    Tom-Avo

    -2 organic Roma or Hot House tomatoes

    -2 big Avocadoes (pitted)

    -2 tsp orange juice (freshly squeezed) 2 oz of water

    Serving Suggestion: Chop some Red Cabbage say a cup or less finely and sprinkle into the soup


    The Real Ranch Dressing:

    -2 medium sized tomatoes

    -2 young coconuts

    -1/2 tsp of salt

    -6 organic sun dried tomatoes

    -I stalk of Celery

    -1 tbs of lemon juice (optional)

    Blend all and use as a dressing for a lettuce based salad. (Note: I recommend using one base leafy vegetable at a time, if desired a fruit veggie like cucumbers or organic bell peppers can be used along with shredded carrots)

    Guacamole:

    -2 avocadoes

    -2 medium tomatoes

    -1/2 orange

    -Sea salt to taste

    Process everything in your food processor.
    I would say this can be an excellent first food for a child in the evenings. Serve in lettuce leaves or largely cut cabbage leaves a la Tortilla chips and dips.


    Dress Down Dressing:

    -1/2 lemon

    -2-3 avocadoes

    -Sea Salt to taste

    -1/2 cup water

    With the suggestions above, now that you may have to include more salads and vegetables into your diet for a safe and healthy weight loss, these delicious recipes will ensure that you not only enjoy how you make your meals but most importantly that they taste good. This way you can stay on your weight loss program and still not compromise tasty meals per-se.

    Reasons Why a Low-Carb diet is unsafe for Weight Loss.

    Contrary to the hype, a low-carb diet is not the best choice for weight loss and may even be more detrimental to your overall health.

    Let’s go over some reasons quickly.
    .
    1. The animals that are usually eaten for protein, what do they subsists on?
    Substances of the Plant Kingdom for example: cows live on grass exclusively.

    2. 98% of the human population is sweet toothed...which shows that carbohydrates are our main need contrary to popular belief.

    3. The great apes are primarily fruit eaters (although with substantial amount of leaves in their diets) How similar are humans to them? Very much so. We share 98% of the same genes.

    4. It’s been scientifically proven that mother's milk is about 2% protein, now if this is the ideal of a growing baby for the first 3 years; of course it shows the minimal need of it. (Point of note, the milk of a woman is affected by her diet so of course that should be checked.)

    5. The need of protein for the human body is about a nickel's weight worth, the excess is basically excreted in urine.

    6. Several people subsists on fruits and green leaves exclusively or starchy root vegetables, fruits and leaves only and are in top shape-I've seen and am one of them.

    7. People have fasted on water only for several days and were actually stronger for the process!

    8. Fruits and green leaves give you sufficient protein: e.g. the Banana, Dates, Avocadoes, Olives, Cabbage, Lettuce, Durian, Young Coconuts and even the Apple. Exactly or a little more than what you need at a given time.

    9. Based on research, the need for amino acids is highly exaggerated as only 16% or our body is Protein. Pure protein is primarily Nitrogen (N) with some Oxygen and Hydrogen and Carbon. We all know that we get a large share of our Oxygen and Hydrogen need from the air. Since we are able to utilize and assimilate a large amount of our needs of these elements, we are able to build the Nitrogen into our body as protein. This process is done by natural bacteria action that is capable of converting it to our use. People who smoke though cannot pick up Nitrogen from the air so easily but might still get enough from proper foods. Although for your well-being, cessation of tobacco usage is mandatory.

    10. Research has been done on the diet of the aboriginal tribes living in the Mountains of Hagen. Their diet consisted of 80 % Sweet potatoes. The rest consisted of fruits and green leaf vegetables. Their daily consumption of protein was around 9.92 g. Meanwhile, eliminated in their fecal matter was a protein of around 15 times more of what was ingested. This phenomenon illustrates the protein synthesis illustrated above.

    Definitely cutting back on the ‘wrong’ kinds of Carbohydrates such as Cakes, Confectioneries, Bread, Polished rice and the like will be mandatory for weight-loss, but replacing them with high protein foods is- just as from the points above-unnecessary and actually harmful for overall health and fitness.

    So what should we eat? Simple, Raw and properly cooked Fruits, Roots and Leafy Vegetables. Not only is this kind of diet unmatched for speedy weight-loss, but your body will thank you for the change as you mechanically (via the broom-like/mucus-binding qualities of these substances) cleanse yourself from perhaps a life-time of wrong eating.

    So, make the right choice for a healthy and safe weight loss with the right foods.

    Discover How To Burn Fat For Fast Weight Loss - Part 1

    Let's face it... it seems like every time you turn your head, there is a new study done indicating that obesity and obesity related diseases are at an all time high (that's epidemic, folks!). I don't know a thing about you, but I'll bet that you don't want to be just another victim of the obesity epidemic!



    Have you ever noticed how many weight loss plans and fat loss supplements are out there on the market today? 100? 1000? Too many for you to count? And if you're like me, with all the information (or misinformation!) out there today, it is hard to decide which is the best weight loss plan for you. To add insult to injury, over 90% of people who try dieting will fail. And, of the ones who succeed, some will end up with more weight than they started out with.



    In my experience, there is only one 100% sure fire way to truly burn fat and keep it off. Notice that we are talking about how to burn FAT, not lose weight. If you want to lose weight, sure, most people can do that, in different degrees. Because when we are talking about weight loss, we are also referring to lean muscle mass. That is where most conventional diet plans fail. They focus on weight loss plans. By the way, the term "lose weight" not only encompasses fat loss, but lean muscle mass and water weight as well. Did you know that within a few days of starting a new weight loss weight loss plan, the initial weight loss almost always represents WATER?



    You do not have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to accomplish your weight loss goals and burn fat!

    The fact is that by eating the right foods (adopting healthy eating habits), limiting fat and sugar intake, and eating the right carbohydrates in a sensible manner will start you on the road to fat loss. Diet and exercise, as well as good nutrition, will help you to burn fat faster than ever before.

    Walking For Weight Loss: How Many Calories Does It Burn?

    People who walk daily have a lesser incidence of cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and other killer diseases. Not only does walking make you healthier but it also burns calories, creates psychological well being, increases metabolism, strengthens muscles, increases flexibility, improves respiratory function and helps concentration and memory.



    This should give you plenty of reasons to try and walk a little each and every day. Besides that, simple physical inactivity is one of the leading causes of ill health.



    Walking not only benefits you but it also benefits the Earth. By learning to walk rather than driving a car you are doing your part to help the environment by not releasing toxins into the air, which hurts the long-term stability of the planet. A short four-mile trip you take walking keeps about fifteen pounds of pollutants out of the air we breathe.



    Walking also saves you money on gas and other expenses associated with your vehicle. Every time you start your car it costs you about five cents considering current gas prices. Needless to say driving anywhere adds to this enormously. Yet, most people still use their vehicles to make short trips, which could easily be made by walking. If you can even make the simple choice to walk once a week when you would normally drive you will go a long way toward making a difference both in your pocket book as well as in your life.



    Walking is also a stress reducer. Stress has been proven to contribute more than any other factor to the reduction of longetivity. Walking can help reduce that stress and increase your longetivity.



    One of the primary reasons people decide to walk is to lose pounds.



    There are some simple formulas you can use to determine how many calories are being burned according to your weight and how fast you are walking.



    3.0 miles/hour (20-minute mile): Burns .027 calories/pound/minute.



    3.5 miles/hour (17 minute mile): Burns .033 calories/pound/minute.



    4.0 miles/hour (15 minute mile): Burns .042 calories/pound/minute.



    4.5 miles/hour (13 minute mile): Burns .047 calories/pound/minute.



    Take the number of calories/pound/minute you burn and multiply it by your weight and then by the number of minutes you walk.



    For example, if you weigh 150 pounds and walk a 20-minute mile for 60 minutes, you multiply 150 by .027, then multiple the result (4.5) by 60. You burn 270 calories.



    It is important that when you do walk that you walk at a moderate pace. Walking will do you no good if it is so leisurely that you exert no effort. A good walk should leave you moderately perspired. This ensures that you are working at an ideal intensity.



    Walking is a habit like anything else. If you can create a habit of walking everyday it will contribute to a new and healthy you in the long term.
