The Best Herbs When Fasting

The Best Herbs When Fasting



Well, in spite of the fact that when we are fasting, we usually are supposed to be abstaining from food, the truth remains that at times we may need the help of some herbs or other items with chlorophyll to help with the cleansing process...at times.

So on the subject of the best herbs when fasting, here are the suggested choices.

1. Peppermint Tea
2. Properly Cooked Vegetable Broth with such herbs as celery, parsley.
3. Celery Juice.

Keep in mind, one of the best herbs when fasting are Celery or parsley as technically, they are both herbs more so than being vegetables, but even when employing the use of these herbs (when fasting or not) try not to overdo it.

Think about it, if you were to eat the herbs plain, you really wouldn't eat but so much as the bitter taste will tell you when you've had enough.

So that's my take on the best herbs when fasting and I hope it helps make yours a successful fasting program.

    Can You Attain Weight Loss While Fasting?

    Fasting, when done properly, can be a basic part of a solid weight loss plan. If done correctly it can be a great start to your new way of living.

    When I first started my weight loss program I began with a fast. I have fasted for 2-7 days on a few different occasions. The reason that fasting can be such a great way to start a weight loss program is because you can see results immediately.

    It will also make it very easy to stick to your diet for the first week. After not eating for a few days, your food will taste better. This is a great time to go a few days eating only fruits and vegetables. This can easily turn your two day fast into a 7 day, full body cleanse.

    Fasting can make you look much thinner in only a couple days. You may not lose a significant amount of weight, but it will look like you have. It can make your waist noticeably thinner and clear up blemishes or skin problems.

    Although I do not think fasting is to be used specifically for weight loss, I think you can do it to get your body ready for a healthier way of living. Use it as a way to cleanse your body out and get rid of all the toxins clogging your system.

    I suggest drinking fruit and vegetable juices while fasting. I have read that you should do a water fast, but it can be a miserable experience if you have never fasted before. So stick to natural juices.

    One of the better results I saw from my fasting experience was that I have more self control over my eating habits. I have always been a binge type of eater. After my fast, I felt like I could restrain myself easier. It is probably a mental attribute. I mean if I can go without eating for 7 days then I can sure keep myself from eating something I shouldn’t.

    So although I don’t think you can use fasting as a diet or weight loss program, I do feel that it can be a great start to a proper weight loss diet and exercise program. I think it is definitely something that everybody should do at least once a year.

    If you have any health problems you should consult a physician before starting any weight loss program. And, if you absolutely cannot go without food then simply try going a few days eating vegetables and fruits only. This will give you most of the same results as the fasting will. However, I recommend the fast over the fruits and vegetables because of the confidence and control you will begin to enjoy as a result.

    Water Fasting Program: How it differs from Juice Fasting



    What is the difference between water fasting and juice fasting?

    During a water fast, only water is consumed. During a juice fast, any variety of fruit and vegetable juices are consumed.

    People detoxify and heal more quickly with a water fast than with a juice fast.

    This is because with a water fasting program, your digestive passageway and organs are able to rest completely, allowing for all of your energy to be used for cleansing and repair of damaged tissues.

    With a juice fast or a cleansing diet of fruits and vegetables, your body must use energy to digest nutrients, leaving less available energy for detoxification and healing.

    Another significant difference is that more fat tissue is burned during a water fasting program, as your body must rely exclusively on fat reserves to supply its energy needs after the first 1-3 days of water fasting.


    Finally, a water fasting program is most effective when you are able to get a lot of physical and emotional rest. If your life circumstances don't allow this, juice fasting is a better choice.

    The Miracle Of Juice Fasting

    Our internal body passages are lined with mucous which is a protective barrier between our sensitive cells and the 'outside' world. In normal times, the mucous remains as a thin protective barrier.

    In times of distress, such as with a head cold or with the ingestion of irritating foods, additional mucous will be formed as an additional barrier between the body and the irritating substance and also as a vehicle to flush out the irritant from the body.

    Swallowed mucus from an abnormal sinus discharge presents a challenge to the digestive tract. The stomach and intestines have a protective layer of mucous which is a barrier against our own digestive juices. Quantities of mucous in our digestive system are dealt with by increasing acid production in an attempt to remove it by digestion.     Fasting A Day Helps In Many Ways

    It may be a surprise for many but fasting is very good for our body if not done in excess. It is one of the best ways to clear toxins which are clogged in your body. It cleanses your body and improves your health. The accumulated fat in the body becomes a good source of energy. It is also said, by fasting on regular intervals your mind works sharply. You are not required to starve yourself to death while fasting.



    If you are suffering from some disease it is a sign, given by your body, to stop eating. If you consume food during your illness it would be similar, to providing food to your sickness. The healing capacity increases by not eating. During the process of fasting you may suffer from headaches, nausea which is very normal. These conditions will bother you for few days.



    Due to the decomposition of the toxic waste we can prevent many diseases like cardiovascular and circulatory glitches. Problems of digestion can be easily cleared by having clear bowel movements. Respiratory troubles like asthma and bronchitis can be slowly and gradually cured. Fasting also reduces weight because being overweight brings too many diseases along with it.



    This act of avoiding food helps you to break free from addictions like caffeine and alcohol. Your bad eating habits get reduced tremendously. Junk food which we keep having creates unwanted problems for our system. A good diet gives you a disease free and healthy body. Every organ gets exerted to provide you with a fit and fine body. It grants you freedom from some of the common ailments like cold, flu, sinusitis and allergies.

Take 8 cups of water in that mix ingredients like 4 tsp. cumin, 4 tsp. coriander powder, 8 cardamom pods, 4 tsp. crushed fennel seeds, 2 pinch black pepper, 1/2 tsp ginger powder or slice of ginger. After bringing this mixture to boil, simmer for five minute. Remove from gas and keep it covered with a lid for 15-20 minutes. Strain this liquid and have it warm throughout the day.
