Fruit Juice Fasting

So What is Fruit Juice Fasting

There are many different types of fasts, but all involve the avoidance of solid foods and the intake of liquids for a period of time, usually 3 to 10 days.

The most extreme form is the intake of water only. In my opinion, a more relaxed approach that includes raw vegetable and fruit juices is preferred to help maintain blood sugar levels and provide easily assimilated antioxidants and vitamins.

Nonetheless, certain people, regardless of the benefits of fasting, still should not partake in fruit juice fasting.

They include people with:

* Cancer
* Diabetes
* Heart disease
* Eating disorders
* Adrenal Exhaustion
* Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
* Fibromyalgia
* Weak Immune System
The list also extends to pregnant, lactating women, people about to undertake surgery and as a matter of fact, it will be safe to consult with a trained hygienist or your medical doctor BEFORE you partake in a fruit juice fasting regimen.

Nonetheless, Fruit Juice Fasting is generally safe as it is beneficial for clogged and congestive conditions, such as mucus, sinus congestion, allergies, constipation, acne, psoriasis and other skin conditions, and headaches.

Expected Symptoms in a Fruit Juice Fasting Program



Most people will experience some withdrawal symptoms, such as headache, tiredness, fever, irritability, hunger, and body aches.

During the fast, your body eliminates stored toxins. You may experience bad breath, a coated tongue, skin odor or eruptions, digestive upset, or insomnia. These symptoms often subside by the second day, but can continue to the third or fourth day.

After these symptoms subside, people may notice mental clarity and lightness. The length of your “healing crisis” depends on many factors, such as your initial health. It is important to not supress the healing crisis with caffeine or other drugs.

It is also important to know how to break the fast and of some degree of importance, what to subsist on afterwards to remain healthy.

All said, fruit juice fasting is beneficial and definitely worth the shot.

    What to Expect When Fasting

    If you take up a juice (preferrably) or a water fast, besides losing weight and toxins of course, you must be prepared to expect some other things.

    When you fast, you eliminate the obsturctions of wrong and too much eating.
    Therefore, you may feel good for a while on a juice fasting program BUT when new, obstructions from your own waste kick into the circulation, then that's when weakness or other unpleasant symptoms may kick in.

    The Good news is you can do one of the following.

    While on a Water Fast:
    You can try to relax and stay calm and possibly drink some fresh lemonade

    While on a Juice Fast:
    Most of the time the symptoms have a tendency to reduce by staying calm.

    On the second type of fast, (even for both) this is why I mentioned earlier that you should prepare for a fast by eating more mucus-less or mucus-poor foods to begin the detoxifying process.

    Juice Fasting Made Even Easier:

    There are many types of fasts and most of them are more or less effective.

    But the TOTAL fast-NO food of any kind whatsoever may be the most commonly practiced...and the hardest.

    That said, it's good to know that a restricted fasting diet of one kind of fruit alone such as grapes, watermelon, oranges, apples etc can be used as semi-juice fast..

    Well, more on this, gotta go to my other assignment.

    Blood Sugar Levels While Fasting

    I was discussing with a friend at work about the issue of juice and water fasting.

    Incidentally, she is a Christian so she knows what fasting is all about at least from a Christian or spiritual fasting point of view.

    She told me that as much as she may like the concept of fasting for cleansing the body,
    she always worried about her blood sugar levels while fasting and felt that about the only way she could be successful at it was if she took some days off to be away from even the mildest of physical exertions.

    She is quite correct.

    However, from my experiences with Christian and juice fasting, if one uses the fasting diet or juice recipe I had mentioned earlier in this blog, suffice it to say that one's blood sugar level while fasting would not be too low.

    The Genuine Maple Syrup has a balanced mixture of sugars (unlike honey, which is a big no! no!) and when thoroughly masticated (the fasting juice that is...) it is released with even more ease into the blood stream, consequently it makes the blood sugar levels while fasting more leveled out.

    Admittedly, one may feel a little tired now and then, but that is more of a detoxification symptom rather than fatigue as a result of a low blood sugar levels from fasting.

    This is why to slow the immense detoxing down, it is best to consume adequate (if not exclusive)amounts of fruits and vegetables to build an alkaline reserve in the body, serve as intestinal brooms and moreover, initialize the detoxifying so by the time you engage in a juice or even water fasting session, you will be much cleansed for the process.

    Why Fasting for Health Is Great.

    For it to be labelled is “the greatest remedy-the physician within", fasting for health definitely is one method that definitely comes in very useful for overall improvement of one's well being.

    However, as beneficial as fasting may be for health, being radical in nature, it is one factor that must be approached with care and caution. Not too much of it, but a significant degree of preparation and knowledge.

    It baffles me though that most people seem to not know so much about fasting in terms of health. Heck, in terms of anything.

    Well, there are tons of sites that offer information on the subject or a personal favorite book titled Rational Fasting by an idol: Prof. Arnold Ehret, is definitely a book worth checking out in regards to informing one's self of the use of fasting for health and or for even weight loss.
    (Well most people into the latter definitely are looking to improve their health so...)

    All in all, using fasting for improving health is DEFINITELY one (if not THE) route to go...and trust me, it's not as hard at all as it may seem.

    You'd be surprised to see just how little food one actually needs to survive...

    Juice and Water Fasting...Any differences?

    Yep! Similar benefits but quite different.

    As Philippus Paracelsus stated, fasting indeed is “the greatest remedy-the physician within”, and for improving health, it works. However, there are two main stand-outs, so let’s go in depth into the differences between the both.

    Now, a fast is simply abstinence from solid food for a considerable length of time in the aim of giving the digestive organs a rest. This practice greatly benefits our overall health and is by far a greater cure of our ills-both physical and mental-than all of the drugs of the medical fraternity combined.

    Now, let’s define the two main ones:

    1. The Complete Water fast: This, admittedly, should be conducted with extreme caution or in a specialized sanitarium if undertaken more than 3 days.

    2. The Juice Fast: This is much easier for the general populace and can be undergone as long as you feel like it.

    From experience, the second option is much easier to execute than the first, however, you could make a juice fast seem just as (if not more effective-at least from the point of view of cleansing) effective as a water fast by thoroughly masticating the juice you do consume and drinking a lesser amount of it.
