Fasting Re-Explained.

The subject of fasting was mentioned at work today and although it was quite amusing actually, to see how little people know of it or how much of a misconception is attached to it, I felt it necessary to re-visit or re-explain fasting in my blog.

Fasting refers to complete abstinence from food for a short or long period for a specific purpose.

It is nature’s oldest, most effective and yet least expensive method of treating disease and is one of the most ancient customs.

Throughout medical history, it has been regarded as one of the most dependable curative methods. In fact, many noted modern physicians have successfully employed this system of healing in the treatment of numerous diseases.

The common cause of all diseases is the accumulation of waste and poisonous matter in the body which results from overeating. This overburdens the digestive and assimulative organs and clogs up the system with impurities or poisons. Digestion and elimination become slow and the functional activity of the whole system gets deranged.

The onset of disease is merely the process of ridding the system of these impurities. Every disease can be healed by only one remedy - by doing just the opposite of what causes it, that is, by reducing the food intake or fasting.

By depriving the body of food for a time ,the organs of elimination such as the bowels, kidneys, skin and lungs are given opportunity to expel, unhampered, the overload of accumulated waste from the system.

Thus, fasting is merely the process of purification and an effective and quick method of cure. It also leads to regeneration of the blood as well as the repair and regeneration of the various tissues of the body.

Hope this clears up some misconceptions of this cure-all.

    HOW TO FAST:

    The way this essential component of drugless healing most be approached is highly important. First you must realize that you are basically on nature's table undergoing an invisible surgery. Simply put, you are giving her a chance to thoroughly cleanse you of years and years of abuse-intentional or not.

    The water fast for 10 days is the recommended way to accomplish this as some hygienists say, but I tend to be of the belief that to succeed at a water fast
    *You must be in a fasting facility AWAY from all distractions and stress.
    *You need to be supervised by a competent party in that program.

    It is quite mentally demanding and I may go as far as to say unnecessary when there are other methods such as a juice fast or the reputable master cleanser that accomplish similar effects yet give you the option to still remain active.
    I have tried the master cleanser on several occasions and though I believe in its efficiency, I believe it's not the only route to do a thorough liquid diet/juice detoxification.

    Based on my tastes and common sense or intuition, I've come up with another option that (at least for me and other people who have tasted it) might be more appealing taste and money wise.

    Instead of all the lemons (which should be organic) that you'd have to buy and the questionable cayenne pepper which schools of diet tend to disagree on, I use organic Valencia Oranges which are naturally sweet and give you more juice for way much less, money than the required 10-12 lemons needed to sustain you during the day.

    Furthermore, think about it logically, try squeezing all those lemons and drinking them unflavored, chances are that it won't be appealing at all, considering its taste. I believe that as potent as the lemon might be, nature must not have intended for it to be consumed in that much of a quantity.

    Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce: "Fasting-the acclaimed Cure all"

    Folks, many people are learning the trick of curing their colds, headaches, nervous spells and other acute troubles by missing a few meals or taking a short fast. It is the simplest and the most efficient way of relieving the overloaded and "food-poisoned" system.

    Have you noticed that one of the commonest complaints of the sick is that they have "lost their appetite". Loss of appetite is an indication that the system is overcharged with toxins and nature is trying to correct this by giving a chance to the waste accumulation in the organs to escape from the system.

    Fasting as a remedy is fully in harmony with the "nature-cure" philosophy of the cause of disease. If the disease is created by an abnormal accumulation of toxins in the system, it stands to reason that fasting will help in their elimination from the system.

    Hence the phenomenon of hybernation of animals in sickness and even when nursing.
    Folks, I owe the cure of my asthma and acne and overall lethargy to this simple, yet very, VERY efficient sacrifice: Fasting.

    Now for weight loss: if you ask: "will it work?"

    You Betcha!!!

    I usually see clearly defined abs while fasting even with simple exercises such as Yoga and Or Hindu Push-ups so, yeah...when used right it works.

    Fasting Explained (why Should I Fast?)

    FASTING EXPLAINED (part 4) Types of Fasts

    TYPES OF FASTS

    There are many types of fasts and most of them are more or less effective and vary of course in their efficacy to eliminate disease.

    A restricted diet of one kind of juicy fruit is one way, Dried fruits with no forms of liquids whatsoever is another one (that I personally have not tried), the lemonade diet aka master cleanser is another, juice fasts but the TOTAL fast-no food whatsoever is perhaps the strictest and the one that requires the most will power.

    In More detail:

    1. The complete water fast: This, admittedly, should be conducted with extreme caution or in a specialized sanitarium if undertaken more than 3 days.

    2. The Juice Fast: This is much easier for the general populace and can be undergone as long as you feel like it.

    3. The Fruit Fast: This, well, is really not a fast per se…but when one lives exclusively on SEASONAL ORGANIC fruits for days on end…meaning mono meals (2 at the most ) of only one kind of fruit say Apples in Fall, Melons in summer for a week plus, you will be bound to see the benefits.

    4. The Dry Fast: This is another camouflaged fast where one consumes ONLY dry fruits such as dates; figs etc for 3 days or thereabout and then breaks the fast with a laxative. Though highly praised in some quarters, it’s not so common.
