Is There Such A Thing As A Detox vegan diet?
Yes, indeed.
Though it may not come across as being just that, if you use a mucus-lean or mucus-less diet for your dietetic needs, its pretty much just that...a detox vegan diet
Now, I know the next question you will ask will be: "Well, what's the Mucus-lean diet?"
Glad you asked.
A mucus-less or mucus-lean diet (especially when used as a detox vegan diet), is one that consists of items that heal, cleanse and nourish the body without producing what most key people in the drug-free fraternity coin as perhaps the main culprit in the cause of disease:Mucus.
That considered, a detox vegan diet then will consist of primarily Fruits and Raw (or Properly Cooked-As the case may be) Vegetables.
Now, although that is what using a vegan diet for detox will be made of, there are other principles that one must keep in mind and adhere to when using such a diet.
These include the following:
1. Proper Food combinations.
2. When and How To Eat.
3. The Seasons of the Items
4. The inclusion of some amount of exercise.
Now, I shall address each of these in as much detail as possible to get you well informed on the various subjects.
Food Combination Guidelines for A Vegan detox diet
Foods eaten in detox vegan diet(when eating for health) can be classified as follows.
-Fruit:
1. Sweet Fruits: Tropical fruits, Bananas, Mangoes, Papaya, Dates, Dried fruits, Sweet apples.
2. Acid Fruit: Citrus, Lemon, Tomatoes, Berries, Pineapples.
3. Sub-Acid Fruit: Most tart apples, Pears, Grapes,
4. Melons: Cantaloupe, Honey-Dew, Water Melon etc
5. Fatty: Avocadoes, Olives, Durian, Young coconuts
-Nuts and Seeds
1. Non-Starchy Foods:
Green leaves, Carrots, Fruit Vegetables e.g. Cucumber, Bell Peppers, Zucchini
2. Starchy: Cooked Vegetables (roots), Grains (if necessary)
3. Lettuce and Celery:
Now, to avoid fermentation in the intestines, indigestion, water retention and toxicity and for success at using a vegan detox diet, do apply these simple techniques in eating for health
1. Eat sweet fruits with other varieties of sweet fruits only.
They may combine with sub-acid fruits
2. Eat Acid fruits alone or with Lettuce and Celery. In little quantities they may combine with Avocadoes or Nuts and Non-Starchy vegetables.
3. Avocadoes and Olives are best eaten with non-starchy vegetables. I believe mashed, avocadoes combine great with boiled potatoes.
4. Melons, as a rule eat alone or leave alone.
Now, that we've gone over some basic rules and principles in regards to food combining for vegan detox diet, here are some combinations below that you may especially want to avoid.
1. Starch and Acid (e.g. Tomato and Potato)
2. Protein and Protein (Avocadoes and nuts)
3. Sweets and Starch (Maple Syrup and Rice)
Other simple guidelines to implement on a detox vegan diet are
1. Never, ever eat fresh fruits with cooked meals. Save for the avocado and even then with caution.
2. Lettuce and Celery combine with anything. Eat these raw.
3. Meat & Fish: Eat these substances in very, very little quantities, one at a time and with
No/low starch vegetables exclusively.
4. Bread: Well, here is a thought, Nature doesn’t produce bread! If you must eat this item, eat as little of it as possible, toasted and with vegetables and fat only.
5. Grains: Eat as little as possible of grains and when consumed, combine them with vegetables only.
6. Never eat until you're hungry and guidelines to know when you are in true hunger are as follows:
-The stomach aspires.
-The mouth salivates even at the sight of plain lettuce.
-The mind is happy and clear
-It happens usually after noon when the body is its building stage.
7. Do not drink liquids of any kind with your meals. It only dilutes the digestive juices in your stomach leading to indigestion and constipation.
8. As a rule of thumb, don't drink anything but water an hour or 2 prior to and/or after eating your meals.
Now, that we've addressed food combining and some other note worthy rules on eating for health, let's address the subject of when to eat a vegan detox diet.
Knowing When To Eat Matters For A Detox Vegan Diet
Based on scientifically proven research on thousands of people for over two centuries on such health principles as food combination and assimilation, the human body goes through a cleansing process from twelve midnight until twelve noon, and a building program from twelve noon to twelve midnight, therefore eating a detox vegan diet during these respective periods should be harmonious with these processes of natural detoxification of the body.
Now, though you may experience slight to no discomfort such as mild dizziness for the first couple of days of adhering to this suggested dietetic change, do not be frightened as these are merely detoxification symptoms of the body which are sure to pass in no time. Moreover, this simple discipline is bound to make the lunch meal even more enjoyable and filling. Try it for yourself and see!
Breakfast:
A choice of the following
1. A tall glass of Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice.
2. A tall glass of Fresh squeezed lemonade flavored with genuine maple
Syrup (the darker the grade the better)
Lunch:
A mono-meal of an organic fruit in season for example: Apples in the fall and winter, Melons in the summer, Berries in spring.
Dinner:
Fresh, home-made salads.
A simple dressing could be
(a) Lemon juice, olive oil and un-iodized sea-salt
(b) Avocadoes or Green coconuts blended with tomatoes and some sea salt
Or
Raw and/or cooked root vegetables such as Celery, Carrots, Potatoes, Plantains, raw or slightly heated fruit veggies (these can be blended into Soups or dressings for your salads)

Well, friends one more component of using a vegan diet for detox which I've purposely saved for last is what Philipus Parcelus has coined as "The greatest physician within', that friends is a fast. Although there is plenty of informatin in my e-book and on this blog in regards to enhancing a detox vegan diet with fasting, here are some brief outlines on the subject to at least get the basics out of the way.
How to Incorporate Fasting Into A Vegan Detox Diet
Using a fast for natural detoxification of the body comes in several methods and types-all more or less effective, but adaptable to whatever level of discipline you may be willing to give in return.These methods include:
1. The complete water fast: This, admittedly, should be conducted with extreme caution or in a specialized sanitarium if undertaken more than 3 days.
2. The Juice Fast: This is much easier for the general populace and can be undergone as long as you feel like it.
3. The Fruit Fast: This, well, is really not a fast per se…but when one lives exclusively on SEASONAL ORGANIC fruits for days on end…meaning mono meals (2 at the most ) of only one kind of fruit say Apples in Fall, Melons in summer for a week plus, you will be bound to see the benefits.
4. The Dry Fast: This is another camouflaged fast where one consumes ONLY dry fruits such as dates; figs etc for 3 days or thereabout and then breaks the fast with a laxative. Though highly praised in some quarters, it’s not so common.
The second and third choices are by far my personal recommendations for those seeking to lose weight or for Body detoxification and cleansing.
Other factors that help in this regards whether to fast or to go on the recommended diet for natural detoxification of the body are to get.
1. Sufficient Exercise
2. Plenty of Sunshine and Fresh Air.
3. Rest and Sleep...as needed.
At this point, let's address the basic recipe for juice that I recommend for fasting intermingled with a vegan diet for detox.
As an alternative to the Master Cleanser, pioneered by Stanley Burroughs, Juicing of vegetables and even fruits through a juicer (which I don’t necessarily advocate) I offer the following ingredients for a less time consuming juice that is both tasty and nutritious.
-Grade B Maple Syrup (Organic preferably)
-Organic Valencia Oranges
-Chilled Water (distilled, reverse osmosis or filtered)
The basic recipe is this
For each medium size to large orange and 2.5 (or slightly less) oz of maple syrup, add enough cold water to make a pint’s worth of juice.
For the Sedentary 1.5 to 2 quarts of this juice (which is 3-4 oranges and 8-10 ounces of Grade B genuine maple syrup) should suffice as an excellent juice fast. For the more active, a maximum of 6 oranges and the Maple Syrup would prove to be more than sufficient.
Now for the additional tips I mentioned on this juice for a natural detoxification of the body, here are the most important steps.
When using this homemade recipe for detoxification of the body, ensure that you do the following:
1. Get as Much Fresh Air as possible.
2. Get as Much Rest as Possible
3. Start off the day with some unflavored fresh lemonade.
4. End each day with a herbal laxative Tea.
Don'ts
1. DON'T use microwaves...at all.
2. Avoid negative mass media and suggestions.
3. Don't overexert yourself, at least not till you feel up to physical activities
4. Don't break a fast with just any food...fruits are your best bet.
Well, there you have it mates, the tips that should assist you in attaining a natural detoxification of the body via arguably the most effective means known to man...fasting.
Now, thus far we have discussed the 'diet' part of a vegan detox diet, however, it must be emphasized that the inclusion of exercise is also imperative for optimal detoxification from such a dietetic lifestyle.
Exercise in the fresh air and the sun not only aids with cleansing the body, it also helps with body-building and makes a vegan diet feel even more 'natural' and fun since there is the inclusion of simple components as...nature.
It also helps immensely to always be properly attuned mentally at all times. This is perhaps where positive thinking tips and simple exercises in that regards may very well come in handy...hey, every little bit helps right.

Everytime I use the fruitfast I feel terrible. My stomach cramps up and I spend alot of time in the bathroom. I am just going to try to eat a well-rounded diet. So much for fruit fast diet for me.
