Let’s Go Over Depression And The Signs of Suicide:

It’s safe to say from all indications that depression and the signs of suicide are unfortunately all too often items that go hand-in-hand.

It’s also pretty obvious that people who do not either live with someone suffering from depression or battle depression themselves absolutely have no idea how dark the hole of depression is.

Still, this can’t be an excuse as depression and signs of suicide are absolutely health concerns that should be taken very seriously.

Consequently, if a friend or loved one that you know is suffering from depression and if you are concerned about the symptoms of suicide there are the few things that you can watch for.

Here are some major indications to be on the look out:

1. If your friend or loved one begins to talk about suicide and then starts to give away favorite possessions, this is a serious sign of suicide and it must be dealt with immediately.

2. It indicates that the sufferer has seriously contemplated harming themselves. If they pull away from you and others who love, if they begin to miss work or school, if they no longer care about things that they have always cared about then these are negative signs related to depression and suicide. If you notice that your friend or loved one begins to alter their normal behavior associated with a depressive episode then you should also take action.

In addition to all of these points, it is noteworthy that one should not respond to these signs with inappropriate humor, indifference, or attempts to just cheer the person up.

More steps than just that might need to be taken.

    Do You Really Know What Clinical Depression is?

    I mean do you really know what it means?

    See, just because one person is moping around and just generally hating the world around him or her, doesn't mean that it's already depression.

    Still, it is noteworthy that if this kind of behavior, the feeling of emptiness, loss of self-worth and absolutely no hope for happiness just goes on and on, then, yes, that individual is very much, indeed, depressed.

    There are various types of depression, from :

    1. Manic or Bipolar depression - characterized by sudden and extreme changes in one's mood wherein one minute he or she is in an elevated state of euphoria while the next minute (day or week) he or she is feeling to be in a personal hell.
    2. Postpartum depression - characterized by a prolonged sadness and a feeling of emptiness by a new mother wherein physical stress during child birth, an uncertain sense of responsibility towards the new born baby can be just some of the possible factors why some new mother go through this.
    3. Dysthimia - characterized by a slight similarity with depression, although this time, it's been proven to be a lot less severe, but of course with any case, should be treated immediately.
    4. Cyclothemia - characterized by a slight similarity with Manic or Bipolar depression wherein the individual suffering from this mental illness may occasionally suffer from severe changes in one's moods.

    But in spite of all of these types, clinical depression however, or as some might call as 'major' depression, is actually the medical term for depression.

    Experts state that clinical depression is how doctors usually refer to "depression" when giving a diagnosis of their patient. It's basically just a medical term.

    To conclude this post, for those who may be seeking some answers for their Clinical depression related questions, the depression section of the health center is highly recommended, as well as books on psychiatry and the internet.

    Either way, just know there is help for it out there.

    Just Put On Your Headphones and Jog...

    So, I had a crappy day at work...

    Yes, I still work a 9-5 for now..but yeah, it was a crappy day where nothing seemed to be going on right, however, I found relief and solace in the fact that as soon as I got home, stretched my upper torso out on my pull-up bar and hit the streets with a nice long jog...I was bound to be better.

    So where is all this headed, well, my friend, if you need something to help you with dealing with depression with a natural treatment for the culprit...exercise is surely one thing!!!

    Research on depression and exercise dates back almost 200 years. Recent studies have reported benefits of exercise on mood in healthy and clinically depressed individuals.

    Most studies show depression and exercise to have psychological and physiologic benefits for participants, with 90% reporting depression relief effects!

    Perhaps, the reason for all of this is because when you engage in physical exercise, you exercise the motor part of the brain making the brain more receptive to positive thoughts...

    YES! I am not perfect at all!

    YES! I am not perfect at all!

    That is correct and not a misprint.

    Society has made such high standards of what is expected of people these days that is it any wonder that most are downright depressed trying to figure out how to live to such expectations.

    This perhaps may be most especial for females.

    Have you ever felt that you don't fit in today's society? Are you sick of being told that you are inadequate because you don't fit the 'perfect model'?

    It has become time to step up and say:

    YES! I am not perfect at all!

    YES! I am a worthwhile person!

    and YES! I can enjoy life perfectly well without having to look like a catwalk model!

    Having said that, of course, there is no reason not to make the best of what you have been given - whatever that may be. Stay tuned for further articles on that subject alone!

    So it is safe to say in the meanwhile though that being healthy and feeling good are the 2 main ingredients for a happy kind of life. Of Course we can always improve, but being happy about ourselves is the No. 1 starting point to making your life whatever YOU want it to be.

    Remember, by being comfortable with yourself and confident in yourself, people will be with you, or follow you, because they like YOU, not what you look like.

    By the way, it's the flaws that make us interesting

    Remember these 5 things when a setback strikes:

    Who in life can say the have never had a set-back?

    It could be the loss of a job, a loved one or the diagnosis of a serious illness.

    Naturally, one might buckle under and feel trapped, however, here are some steps to get one back on track.

    Remember these things and also that they are not in any particular order per se…

    1. You are NEVER alone:

    No man is an island, I am sure that help and assistance could come from a relative, friend or even if need be some spiritual back-up from God.

    2. Know where you are going

    Now, as you go through each day, you can ask yourself “am I moving towards or away from my goals?” Spend as much time as you can moving towards your goals and you’ll get there – maybe even faster than you expected!

    3. Look to the future

    Get your current problems into perspective by looking at the larger picture of your life.

    4. Have faith

    Faith is fundamental to success in anything you are doing. You will always be in circumstances where you cannot see exactly how something is going to work out, yet to stand any chance of success you have got to believe that it will.

    You must develop and strengthen your faith in the outcome you desire day by day.

    5. Apply positive Affirmations

    Affirmations have been used since time immemorial to achieve these results.

    Your affirmations should be short positive, present tense statements of what you want to be, do and have. You should link them with positive feelings and use them regularly, at least once a day. If you persist for at least 30 days, you will start to notice changes in your life that bring you closer to your desired results.

    Well, it is my hope that all this may help.

    Happiness Ain't Material things

    Some of us think we'll be happy when we either get the jobs we want, or get a nice house car or mate...so is it really possible to have lasting happiness.

    Search of happiness is one of the basic purposes of human life. However, it is also the source of greatest frustration.

    Ask the several so-called successful people in the world.

    The main reason for this frustrating situation is that most people fail to differentiate between joy or pleasure and real happiness.

    Bhagwat Gita points out that everything in this material world is temporary and that every human being is living in illusion. And this is the cause of all miseries.

    So, suffice it to say that happiness therefore is not in material things.

    You have surely heard that health is wealth.

    Therefore it is important to keep healthy physically to experience happiness. In today’s world that is full of rat race, people often neglect their health. Therefore, a healthy body is the first key to happiness.

    Secondly, keep the mind healthy. Reading good books, listening to powerful recording and associating with positive and progressive people are the best ways to keep a healthy mind.

    Spiritual Well-being: Man is a spiritual being and happiness is a spiritual feeling. Many religions in the world advocates that the only way to eternal happiness and bliss is in service of God, the ultimate spiritual authority.
