Pregnancy is a natural process involving changes in the women's body and also in their behaviour and lifesyle. Even though pregnancy is not a disease, it requires a special attention. For instance, pregnant women should follow a healthy diet and not in the last place they should maintain their health and a nice body shape by doing physical exercises. In addition to this, exercises during pregnancy are a new discovery and many pregnant women tend to adopt it in order to keep a nice figure and also to have a healthy body. Specialists have discovered that exercises can make pregnant women to feel much better and comfortable with their body, they can help them to strengthen the muscles, manage the stress and also to mantain a balanced weight.

Moreover, by doing exercises during pregnancy, women not only mantain their weight and nice figure but also they can pass easier over the pregnancy symptoms having an important role in balancing the hormones, improving constipation, lessening morning nausea and also in preventing or managing gestational diabetes.

Furthermore, it is important to say that pregnant women should ask a medical advice before they start the exercises. So, the doctor can make sure that the exercises are safe for the mother and especially for the unborn baby. On the other hand some women have a complicated pregnancy and cannot perform physical exercises. Moreover, pregnant women who choose to make exercises should remember that they still have a special condition and they should start out slowly and don t overdo it.

Much more, there are a wide variety of exercises that can be quite useful and don't create discomfort or pain. Pregnant women have the chance to perform great activities at home together with their husbands or in special places where many pregnant women gather and do physical exercises supervised by a specialist. However, pregnant women should avoid contact sport and activities in which they may get hit in the tummy.

For instance, a common activity which pregnant women usually choose is aerobics, exercises that increase the heart rate and pump oxygen and nutrients throught the body. Other low impact activities are: walking, swimming, stationary cycling. Moreover, other examples of exercises are yoga and pilates which are useful for the physical and mental health and usually combine breathing, streaching and breathing techniques.

Another group of exercises are Kegels, a pregnancy exercises which are very easy to perform. In addition to this, Kegel exercises help to strenghten the plevic floor muscle which tend to loosen after giving birth.

Improve Your Chances Of Getting Pregnant

For countless women, becoming pregnant is relatively easy. For others, it can be far more complicated. Many women feel helpless if they do not conceive quickly, and they begin to think there may be a serious fertility problem. There are many things women can do to increase their fertility levels and therefore, improve their chances of having a baby.

    Keep a Positive Attitude

Research has shown that physical health is not the only issue, where conception is concerned. Having a positive mental attitude can make an enormous difference. Negative thoughts will often hinder your chances of conceiving. As stress level rise, fertility levels can fall. Try not to worry too much about getting pregnant quickly. Take time out of your busy schedule to unwind. Everyone has different methods of relaxing, so think about what you can do to achieve this.

For some, it can be as simple as taking a warm, candlelit bath. Others may need more help. Aromatherapy massages and reflexology are wonderfully calming and can make a huge difference to your state of mind. Aromatherapy may also be used to regulate menstrual cycles. Certified aroma therapists can be found on the internet or in your local business directory.

Just spending some quality time with your partner can help. Try to do activities together in your spare time and make sure that you both enjoy them. This alone can heighten the emotional aspects of your relationship and remove some of the stress that so easily builds up when you are trying for a baby.

    Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been known to have a very positive affect on fertility, when used in conjunction with IVF. Research in to its effects on fertility alone, are incomplete. Though, smaller studies have shown that it can be beneficial.

Acupuncture has been used by Chinese medics for around 5,000 years and is renowned for having amazing effects on a variety of ailments. However, its benefits have only been recognised by American medics for the past few decades.

If you are interested in trying out acupuncture, always find a reputable, certified acupuncturist. The National Institutes of Health and The American Academy of Medical Acupuncture are reliable sources for finding licensed acupuncturists.

    Ovulation

Your chances of becoming pregnant greatly depend on your menstrual cycle and its regularity. Ovulation usually occurs between the twelfth and eighteenth day of your cycle. During this time, you are at your most fertile and your chances of falling pregnant are maximized.

It is thought that ovulation is most likely to happen on day fourteen (this is based on a regular, twenty-eight day cycle.) A way of predicting your most likely day of ovulation is to subtract fourteen from the total length of your own menstrual cycle. For example, if your cycle is twenty-eight days, subtract fourteen to arrive at your optimum date of fertility, (in this is case, it would be day fourteen.) Nevertheless, women’s menstrual cycles do vary greatly; consequently, your day of ovulation may either be before or after day fourteen.

Ovulation predictor tests can also be bought from a pharmacy or drugstore. Having sexual intercourse when you are ovulating will obviously increase your chances of getting pregnant. Although, couples should try to have sex at least three times per week if they are trying for a baby. The human body is a miraculous thing and ovulation does not always occur when it should take place. Regular sex not only strengthens a relationship, it is a way of making sure that no opportunities are missed.

After you have had intercourse, try not to get up or move around for at least twenty minutes, this will help to keep your partner’s sperm inside your body, again, increasing the likelihood of falling pregnant.

    Nutrition and Diet

Having good nutrition and eating a sensible, healthy diet plays a hugely important role. Try to eat a diet rich in fruit and vegetables, lean protein and wholegrain, fiber-rich foods, such as brown bread, rice and pasta.
The vitamins and nutrients that are found in certain foods can also help you become pregnant. Here are some examples:

    * Leafy, green vegetables, such as cabbage, kale, broccoli, lettuce and spinach, are high in folic acid, a vitamin which is incredibly important for both mother and child. Folic acid supports the development of a fetus and can prevent debilitating defects, including spina bifida. It is also essential for the reproductive and general health of a woman. Folic acid can also be found in bread and cereals and taken as a vitamin supplement.

    * Lean meat or beans and pulses are very rich in protein and iron. These important nutrients help to keep iron levels high in the body. A blood count low in iron, can affect the general health of the ovaries, and may interfere with ovulation.

    * healthy eggs and can be found in nuts and seeds, dairy products, yeast, wholegrain foods, lean meat and shellfish.

    * Dairy products are rich in calcium, which everyone needs to maintain healthy bones and teeth. If you are trying to get pregnant, make sure that you consume enough calcium, in order for your body to support a developing fetus

If you have been trying to get pregnant for more than one year, or you are feeling very unhappy. It is best to make an appointment, to discuss any issues you may have, with your doctor. If your doctor thinks there is a genuine complication, they will arrange for you to see a fertility specialist as soon as possible.

Do you want an exotic pet

Are the kind of person who would enjoy taking care of an exotic animal for a pet instead of a dog, cat, rabbit or any of the regular variety pets? Caring for an exotic pet is serious business, but it can also be a fun and challenging endeavor.

Exotic pets are animals that are not commonly considered pets by many. They are not your regular, every day pets. Unless your pet dog or cat belongs to a very rare species, it's not an exotic pet. Exotic pets are also referred to as non-traditional pets because they are not the kind of pets that most pet owners would have. Some of the more popular exotic pets include exotic cats, frogs, hamsters, hedgehogs, lizards, monkeys (illegal in some countries), parrots, snakes, spiders, turkeys and turtles.

Before acquiring an exotic pet, you need to be clear as to why you truly want to own one. Are you just getting an exotic pet so you can be "cool" and show off to friends and family? If you are, it is best to forget getting one. Caring for an exotic pet demands is a big responsible, one you should never take lightly. Because you will be caring for a non-traditional pet, your exotic pet will require special accommodations, attention and food.

However, if you truly want to own an exotic pet not for the cool factor having one but for a real desire to care for one then the next thing you should do is research on the kind of exotic pet you want to have. Also, make sure that the exotic pet you are going to get is legally allowed in the area you are living in.

Below are a few more things you should keep in mind when buying an exotic pet.

    * Consider how big the exotic pet you want will grow into as adult. Don't just go for an exotic pet because you think it's cute when it's still a baby. Think about its size when it becomes an adult. Remember that the larger the pet, the bigger the space it will require and the harder it may be to handle.

    * Do you want an exotic pet that likes people and frequently handled? Perhaps you want an exotic pet that does not mind if it is not handled regularly.

    * What kind of food will your exotic pet need? Exotic pets usually need specialized food. You need to know if you will be able to get food for your exotic food from a regular supplier. Also, consider how food would be prepared as some exotic pets require freshly prepared food every day. Factor this in your decision since you are the one who will be feeding your exotic pet.

    * What kind of housing will your exotic pet need? Will a small cage do or will you need to build something to hold your exotic pet?

    * Consider the cost of keeping your exotic pet alive. Exotic pets are more expensive to care for than ordinary pets. You will have to find out how much food, housing, supplies and veterinary care your exotic pet will require.

    * What are your plans for the long term? Do you see yourself moving to a new place or being away for a long time? How will you take care of your exotic pet during those times when you are away?

    * Do you have children living with you? Make sure that the exotic pet will be safe around kids and vice versa.

    * If you have other pets in your home, make sure that the exotic pet you get is compatible with them.

    * Make sure that there is available veterinary care nearby for your exotic pet.

    * There are exotic pets that live a long time and may even outlive you so consider this when choosing an exotic pet.

    * Consider an exotic pet's destructive tendencies. Will you be able to train your exotic pet? How much training will be required to curb your exotic pet's destructive tendencies?

    * Keep in mind that there are animals that carry disease that can be transmitted to humans so take care when choosing an exotic pet.

    * Avoid getting an exotic pet that can pose potential danger to your or other people's life. There are exotic pets that are aggressive and downright dangerous.

    Reducing Playground Scars

Playground swings, slides and jungle gyms are fun, but they can also cause injuries. And statistics show that almost half of all playground injuries occur during summer months.

The most common accidental playground injuries in children 4 and younger are to the head and face, while for children ages 5 to 14, injuries to the arms and hands are most common.

Fortunately, the scars left behind from these injuries don't have to serve as permanent reminders of these accidents.

Pediatricians recommend using a scar product formulated just for children to reduce the appearance of these types of scars. Such products, such as Mederma for Kids, work to soften and smooth old and new scars resulting from cuts and scrapes, stitches, burns, bug bites, surgery--and even the occasional playground accident.

The product has a kid-friendly scent, is easy to use and is nontoxic. Because it goes on purple and massages in clear, kids often get more involved in their scar treatment process.

examining proper lawn care for you and your spouse

Nothing can look more beautiful, yet be more frustrating, then our lawns. For those suburban dwellers among us, the upkeep of our home’s lawn can be tantamount to a full time job. And the appearance of said lawn can be an exercise in social domination. There are no shortages of neighborhood competitions regarding the color, thickness, and texture of our lawns. And even if the only pressure we feel is that which we put on ourselves, lawn care can still be incredibly overwhelming. Luckily, with the mastering of a few fundamentals of lawn care we can be well on our way to achieving a lush and healthy lawn.

When examining proper lawn care, you should start at the beginning. If you have the opportunity to choose the type of grass that is planted around your home then you can begin the proper care from the ground up; some research will yield the type of grass that will grow the best in your particular climate.

Going forward, successful lawn care means a regular system of maintenance that revolves around the seasons. Applying fertilizer in the fall and essential nutrients in the winter will allow your lawn to be healthy all year.

Additionally, weekly maintenance during growing season should be included in a lawn care system. Be sure to mow your lawn on a weekly basis and remove grass clippings to ensure that the roots of your lawn are not blocked from receiving proper water and sunlight. To this end, frequent aeration of your lawn will loosen soil and keep water and nutrients moving freely, thus allowing your grass to grow without hindrance. Further, if there is insufficient water from rain, then be sure to supplement with frequent watering of your grass.

Consistent and dedicated lawn care all year will reward you with a beautiful and healthy lawn to be envied by all.

Building a compost bin can be a fantastic way to bond with your family

Building a compost bin can be a fantastic way to bond with your children. In addition, you can educate them about saving the environment and preservation. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Let’s start with a simple definition of a compost bin. It is simply a “container” for turning waste organic material such as peelings (fruits or vegetables), leaves and grass clippings into compost so that they can be used to improve soil quality.

Fundamentally, there are two popular bin systems. One is the three bin system where the bins are either connected or individually lined up. This allows for using bins for different types of composts such as regular compost, slow compost like woody plants or leaves collected in fall.

Yet another purpose of the three bin system is to move the compost from one bin to the next, allowing it to turn. Each bin is for compost at a different stage of decay. And, when the compost makes it to the third bin, it is ready for use.

The other bin system is the simple one bin system where you dump everything in!

Common materials for building a compost bin include a 16-guage plastic-coated wire mesh and hardware cloth. Other materials of choice include the old cinder blocks or bricks, wooden pallets, hog wire spoiled hay bales, snow fencing, and a discarded rabbit hutch. It is a bad idea to use pressure-treated wood, as it has toxic levels of copper and chromium. This will probably poison your compost.

Building a compost bin from wooden pallets is probably the most economic and efficient way. You can easily get pallets from grocery, hardware stores, and warehouses. Use plastic ties to hold four pallets together in a box formation. If you are going for a 3 bin system, simply add another bin by attaching 3 more pallets using one side of the already made bin to complete another box.

Generally, a compost bin built using wooden pallets will decompose in two years’ time. When that comes, it is fun time again – it’s time for building a compost bin again!

To make the bathroom a place you want to be...

The bathroom is probably one of the most used rooms in the home. It is important to keep it clean and fresh, not only for unexpected company, but for your family as well.

To make the bathroom a place you want to be, it needs to look and smell fresh. Although some people use air fresheners to accomplish this, the smell can be harsh and overwhelming (especially for a small bathroom). A quick mop, wipe down of the exterior of the toilet, and a scrub of the sink will bring a new life to the bathroom.

In our home, the children handle these chores. It doesn’t take them long, it helps me have time for other chores, and I never have to cringe if someone has to use our bathrooms while they are visiting.

It is also important to keep the soap out in the open, and the tooth brushes away from the open. If you thing of all the germs that are floating around the bathroom then you want to expose your toothbrush as little as possible. The soap should be out for everyone’s use. I keep the liquid soap filled. With small children, I have found that diluting the soap with water helps with waste.

For visitors, there is nothing worse than washing your hands and finding nothing to dry them on. Keep a hand towel near or on the sink to encourage people to wash up at the conclusion of their visit to the room.

Keeping the bathroom clean is not as time consuming as some might imagine. Doing the jobs on a consistent time line will make them easier and quicker. The clean room will be inviting to visitors, and it will also be healthier for your own family. With a little planning, your bathroom could become the best place in the house.

A Spiritual View Of Attention Deficit Disorders And Related Childhood Difficulties

The phenomenon of limited or impaired attention span, of difficult or aggressive behavior, of problems with peers or of making friends, of body level agitation which leads to nervous gestures or an inability to sit still for more than a minute – all of these can be symptoms not of a medical or psychological condition, but a condition that has to do with the greater presence of light on the planet and in the spiritual atmosphere or environment in which we live. This atmosphere is not visible. It may not even correspond to a particularly spiritually-based life within a family. Nevertheless, the vibration of increased light that is present is being taken in by children's bodies as is the energy of darkness, both of which are currently amplified on a planetary level, leading to an overloading, at times, of the energy circuits within a child's body.

This overloading occurs when what is being taken in cannot adequately be processed or released. All too often, parents, educators, physicians, or counselors who do not feel comfortable with this kind of frame of reference or who simply require a more immediate approach to the problem of symptomatic behavior, will seek medication to alter a behavioral or mental pattern that seems to not respond to any other kind of intervention. And yet this action, too, is often taken with a sense of concern on the part of parents, for the accompanying effects of any kind of medication used by the very young are not altogether known or knowable.

A spiritual perspective about children's attention deficit disorders, about behavioral problems, about sudden bursts of aggression in children who are otherwise placid or very gentle, will not immediately calm or change the situation in which the behavior occurs. It will not immediately tell parents what to do to make it stop or expand a child's ability to focus or be present both at school and in general. Yet such a focus, if taken seriously, can significantly help to limit the existing symptoms and can also create hope for the future – a future in which these symptoms will no longer be present.

The limitation of symptoms comes from restricting the contact a child has with disturbing energies or disturbing environments so that their systems do not easily get overloaded, or, if such contact is necessary, it comes from building in recovery time within a day's activities so that things can smooth out. Hope for the future is created by understanding that there is a purposefulness to what is happening with the very young. They have chosen to be here at this time of great change and transformation and their bodies are responding to the already existing alterations on the planet before their minds or hearts can know anything about what is really going on. For many of these children, it will be the case in the years ahead that those whose bodies are already beginning to adapt to greater light, will have an easier time when the light begins to increase even more. In this sense, many who are having difficulties at present because their young bodies cannot adequately handle the strong energies they are processing, will have a head start in being able to deal with things later on.

Of course this view presumes that there is a planetary transformation taking place and that its effects are palpable. Without such an understanding, the only recourse for parents who are concerned for their loved ones is to continue to work exclusively within a medical and/or psychological frame of reference and to find the best answers they can to the problems they are faced with. If a broader view can be acquired, however, even without giving up the more commonplace forms of treatment that have been adhered to, then the use of medication can be evaluated in a different way in terms of not being the only option available. Other lifestyle changes that will have a more long-term effect can be pursued so that the energetic issues causing the problem of system overload can be handled in a more practical, common-sense way and on a daily basis.

While it may not be true that all children who are presently diagnosed with such things as attention deficit disorder or related difficulties are responding to an inadequate processing of greater light and greater darkness, there are many today who could be helped greatly by such a perspective which would allow for greater patience and tolerance and less anxiety and concern on the part of parents.

The purpose of the transformation of the planet into light is a good one. It is one that will liberate forces of love and the desire for peace and unity on the earth that have not been capable of greatly influencing the planet before this present time. It will bring human consciousness to the next stage of its development. It will create a body-level understanding of the oneness of all and the sacred life within all. Many children who are otherwise having great difficulty with life understand these spiritual principles intuitively, and if they were not so physically and emotionally taxed on a daily basis, would be able to manifest more of the soul that lives within them that is actually here to make a positive contribution to planetary wellbeing – to love, to gentleness, and to peace on earth.

A spiritual perspective does not have to be in competition with others. What it allows for is the openness to gain one's own experience from a new way of looking at things. This openness may lead to new practical measures that can be experimented with in order to help one's children, and also in order to help oneself deal with the challenges that must be met. The freedom to choose an expanded way of viewing things enables practical decisions to be made from a more knowledgeable base - one that is trustful instead of fearful, that is hopeful instead of despairing, and that can see the good that will ultimately come from the present difficult situation.

Tips For Getting Your Adolescent To Open Up

To many parents, their children seem like a closed book. At times it appears to be impossible to get them to open up and talk about their lives. But talking to your child and being aware of what is going on in their lives is one of the greatest ways to shield them from danger. Spying and snooping around isn’t the best way to get that information either, it will only makes matters worse if your teen finds out.

Here are a few tips to help your teen open up:

Start young. Keeping a connection going with your child is easier than starting one when you haven’t had one before. You may discover them trying to draw away once they hit a certain age; just being persistent and keeping at it can prove to work.

Be open to what they say. When you get your teen to open up, don’t be shocked if they say some things you are not fond of. Just be open to what they’re telling you instead of being critical. You can express to them that you don’t approve of something without attacking them. If they feel relaxed talking about serious things, they’ll be more likely to come to you if they have a dilemma.

Find a common ground. Look for things that you and your child are both interested in. It’s easier to talk about something that you both have in common.

Spend more together. A recent study showed that many teens complain that they are not receiving sufficient time with their parents. This is one of their top concerns. Many teens feel they can’t talk to their parents because they’re always at work or busy doing other things. Many time we fail to remember to take time out from our frantic lives to pay enough attention to our kids one on one. Some suggestions for spending additional time with your teen are:

    * Set up a definite time every week to spend time with your teen
    * Have dinner at the table with the whole family as often as possible
    * Work out or engage in a sporting activity with your child

While your teen may be hesitant to talk to you at first, keep trying. Likely, you’ll intimately break down the wall and they’ll look forward to talking with you and spending more time with you as well.

For Improved Security, try changing your locks

Changing your locks may sound like a simple task, but this is true only if you know what you are doing. There are many different styles of handles on the market. The locking mechanisms on certain styles vary and each has a unique function. If you are going to change your locks, be sure to know what type works best and why. Here is some useful information on styles and basics of changing a lock. Knowing what the lock is used for is important in finding the style that best meets your security needs.

Free through Passage Handles: These handles are exactly as they sound. You will not have to worry about locks. They come in either a knob type handle style or a level style which is very popular. Before purchasing these handles, though, be sure you do not need a lock.

Privacy Door Knobs: These handles are often used in the bedroom or bathroom. You can unlock the door by either turning the knob or turning an extra switch on the inside of the door. These are great for those areas where privacy is desired most.

Security Deadbolt Lock: The single deadbolt lock is a great style lock is good for any entrance to the home, whether the front or back door. However, it is best to use this lock with doors that do not have side lights or a glass pane since entrance would be fairly easy. One would only have to break the glass and reach in to turn the knob. The double deadbolt lock can provide extra strength and security to your doors. It can be locked form the inside or the outside using a key. You can also add a chain, for example, to provide even more security.

Decorative Door Knobs, Deadbolt and Latch Set: These handles help improve your home’s appearance. They are often placed on French doors. You can also use them on pantries if there is nothing hazardous inside, which should be kept from small children for instance. There are no locks on these decorative handles, but a little more security can be implemented with a decorative deadbolt and latch set. You can use these two pieces together or by themselves, depending on your needs.

You must now determine if the door handle you currently have is appropriate. To make this determination, you should first look at the latch plate. The hole may not be deep enough for a higher quality latch. Open and remove the existing latch plate, which is on the inside of your door. If it does not fit into the old hole, you will need to chisel the hole to give it a deeper depth. Also, be sure to check that the plunger for the deadbolt lines up with the hole in the frame since the lock will not provide proper security otherwise. Adding longer screws into the pre-drilled areas on the latch plate can add extra security.
