So How Did These Acne Breakouts Come About…Again?

Well, although it’s safe to say I have decent skin compared to say 5 or 6 years ago, every so often I do get a bump or so…DON’T LET IT GO BEYOND THAT…

and though I may not know all the answers, sometimes I do wonder…what could be the cause of that breakout?

For me, I tend to think if I’m just overly stressed or sleep on a dirty pillow-case without shampooing my hair or don’t wash my face or eat the wrong stuff…I’m liable to breakout, if only to get me back on track, however experts say that although the actual cause of acne is quite unclear, the underlying process behind sudden acne breakouts is getting clearer everyday.

Apparently folks, the process is the following, the skin of most acne sufferer often produce an excess of oil by the sebaceous gland. This excess will then mix with the dead skin blocking the pores of the skin at the level of the hair follicles and thus giving rise to pimples.

Me personally, I think the biggest link might be (not unlike the so-called myths) something to do with what one eats.

I mean, ever since I drastically changed my eating habits, it’s never really gotten as bad as it used to be…

    Acne affects more than 85 percent of Americans during their lifetime.

    Well, coming from someone who used to suffer from pimples in the past, this post touches the heart especially.

    Now, while the exact cause of acne is not known, it is noteworthy that dermatologists such as New York 's Dr. Hilary Baldwin know that the main goals in treating acne are to heal pimples, stop new pimples from forming and help reduce the embarrassment that so many teenagers and even adults experience when they have acne.

    Quoting this expert, Dr. Baldwin; "The truth of the matter is that clear skin gives teenagers confidence. I see it every day, Teens come to me and they perceive that their skin is hopeless, when in fact the proper treatment is quite simple. When teens stick with their treatment regimen, they begin to see the results they are looking for-not only does their acne get better, it stays better. A few visits later and their whole demeanor has changed; they are more comfortable, happy and relaxed."

    At this point, it’s safe to say that acne is the most Common Skin Disorder !!!

    Now, background information into this post on a natural and effective means of treating acne indicates that Dr. Baldwin notes that "a majority of patients often express that they take comfort in knowing that their peers were feeling the same way." In fact, they are never surprised to hear that acne is the most common skin disorder in the United States, affecting 40-50 million Americans..

    She adds that “One of the best treatment options for teens that I have seen is the use of a topical pore-unplugging medicine such as Retin-A Micro," says Dr. Baldwin. "And now with the new pump delivery system there is no question about how much medication is the right amount, which helps reduce irritation. It can even be applied to an unwashed face."

    Well, let’s conclude by saying that the main goal in treating acne is to heal pimples and stop new pimples from forming.

    The Yoga Lion Pose and Acne...what is the link?

    Well, several people talk about Yoga as being part of or even the answer to a plethora of health problems.

    Rightfully so, because as it turns out, it does work for a series of ailments, with acne and facial aging not as exceptions.

    Now, I must point out that when I say Yoga, though the first thing most people may think of will be a pretzel-looking pose, (which to some extent is correct), I not only mean the asanas but an inclusion of its other limbs, diet and positive mental attunements.

    But of course, I bet you are just going...Oye, just how can this Yoga help with a natural acne treatment regimen?

    Well, in addition to other acne remedy tips that I have mentioned in the blog, here are a few poses you can add to your arsenal for acne prevention.....and treatment.

    The Lion Pose:

    Instructions:

    1. Sit up on the knees with the heels of the feet pressed against the buttocks and the calves of the legs flat on the floor.

    2. Place the balls of the hands on the knees, straighten the arms and keep the back erect and the head straight (not tilted forward, back, to the left or the right).

    3. Inhale while leaning forward slightly, stretching the mouth the jaws as wide as possible, extend the tongue out and downward as much as possible, fix your gaze either at the tip of the nose or between the eyebrows and stretch the fingers straight out from the knees.

    4. Hold the posture for the duration of the inhaled breath then exhale, relaxing the forward stretch, dropping the fingers to the knees and closing the mouth and eyes.

    Comments:
    The simha-asana benefits parts of the body that most other asanas do not: the face, jaw, mouth, throat and tongue. Those who experience tightness or discomfort in the jaws such as teeth grinding, clenched jaws, a misaligned bite, etc. will benefit from both the jaw and tongue stretching of the simha-asana. This asana is also known to help prevent or cure sore throats. The muscles and tissues of the face are rejuvenated from the alternating stretching and release, an exercise they rarely get in the course of our everyday lives.

    The Shouler Stand

    The Shoulder-stand Pose (Sarvanga-asana ) Instruction:
    1
    Lie flat on the back in the shava-asana.

    2
    Inhale through the nostrils. Place the palms face-down on the floor. Keeping the hips on the floor, bend the knees and bring them up toward the stomach while exhaling.

    3
    Inhale slowly through the nostrils, press down on the hands and lift the torso from the waist up off the floor, arching the spine backwards and straightening the arms. Keep the hips on the floor.

    4
    Inhale, then while exhaling, raise the legs straight up perpendicular to the floor. You may support your hips with your hands or leave the arms flat on the floor, whichever is most comfortable.

    5
    The legs should be together with the knees straight and toes pointed straight up. Keep the head straight without turning it to either side. The chin should be pressed against the chest.

    6
    Breath gently through the nostrils while the posture is held.

    7
    Reverse the steps to return to the shava-asana.



    Comments:
    The sarvanga-asana is considered by many to be the most beneficial of all yoga postures. Because of its many benefits, if you find that your time is limited in the course of Yoga practice at home, it is recommended to place special emphasis on the sarvanga-asana.

    When performed in the morning the sarvanga-asana relieves fatigue caused by sleeping too much or too little and when practiced in the evening it helps to promote deep, restful sleep. It strengthens the back and helps to relieve lower back pain.

    The increased blood flow to the head and upper body helps to heal many disorders such as headaches, nasal congestion and sore throats. The entire endocrine, digestive, nervous, and venous systems of the body are stimulated in ways that no form of diet or conventional exercise can perform.

    So there you have it, two favorite Yoga Poses that can be used to help in a combat of acne...again as mentioned earlier...the Yogic Diet...(albeit also Man's most natural diet..fruits and vegetables, should also be part of your core to accomplish this victory over acne.

    Acne hurts anyone male or female.

    Being a guy, most people tend to think that having acne should not be an issue.

    Well, nothing could be further from the truth.

    Acne hurts anyone male or female.

    Acne can have an affect on the confidence of the young man and makes this transitional time harder to live with.

    The good news is fellas, puberty and acne can be controlled if you know what to do.

    For one: Now may very well be the time to start to eat a healthier and more natural diet.

    Secondly, it is important to keep the face clean.

    One standout will be the use of a mild astringent like witch hazel and plain water.

    Sometimes puberty and stress can combine to make acne even worse. Find the causes of stress and work on reducing or eliminating it. The acne itself can lead to stress and then you have a vicious cycle. A boy during puberty does not need the added stress of acne.

    It is not a good idea to squeeze or pick at blemishes. This practice only makes the acne worse, and makes the scars last longer.

    If you happen to be shaving, then sometimes an electric razor is the best but for other boys a safety razor will be more comfortable.

    Other factors are to try using a fresh pillowcase every night and to keep the hair clean as well.

    For now, here’s to clearer skin.

    Yoga and anti-aging…a match made in health’s heaven

    Well, who wouldn’t want to stay and look young seemingly forever?

    I know I would like that.

    To that effect, it must be noted that one stand-out to accomplishing that may be the incomparable yoga..

    There is a very famous concept in Yoga philosophy. According to it a person's age is determined by the flexibility of his spine, not the number of years he has lived.

    Most people believe that yoga helps in slowing down the aging process by

    -Providing elasticity to the spine.

    -Firming up the skin.

    -Removing tension from the body.

    -Strengthening the abdominal muscles.

    -Eliminating the likelihood of a double chin.

    Thus, of the numerous benefits of Yoga, anti-ageing is an important one.

    Furhtermore, it must be mentioned that Yoga helps to keep one mentally alert, besides being physically fit with it. Which in itself is something to be kept in mind for keeping one’s youth for long lengths of time.

    So what are you waiting for…?

    Want to stay young…get on the yoga band-wangon.
